Our client located in Brits is seeking an MES Technician to review client proposals in terms of control systems engineering and design, also provide technical input for control system functional specifications.
Education and Minimum Requirements
   » Grade 12 / Matric
   » B Tech /Diploma / Advanced / Higher / Graduate Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent
   » Manufacturer PLC programming certification (Siemens or Rockwell or other)
   » Manufacturer SCADA / HMI programming certification (Wonderware or Siemens or Rockwell or other)
   » Database Fundamentals (Oracle a must, MS SQL a plus)
   » +10 years' significant working practice in the manufacturing industry with a proven track record in control systems engineering, programming, and commissioning
   » Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System (MES/MOM/SCADA)  
   » practice in Genealogy tracking systems
   » Knowledge of Databases e.g. ORACLE, SQL Language, database management.
   » Knowledge of IT hardware e.g. PC’s, Servers, Scanners, Virtual Servers, PLC’s, Routers
   » Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations
   » Knowledge of networking systems e.g. Ethernet, TCP/IP, Networking, AD, SNMP, OPC, Wi-Fi

   » Rockwell RSLogix, Studio 5000
   » Rockwell Automation Factory Talk
   » Microsoft Office products
   » Visual Basic, C++, C#, Visual studio
   » SQL coding
   » capability to work across disciplines, have excellent communication expertise and capability to work well with others
   » Demonstrated capability in planning and organizing, controlling, coordinating and directing engineering activities

   » Primary responsibility includes the support, development, configuration, integration, testing, and deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems in the rubber industry
   » The MES Technician will report to the Engineer within the Brits plant
   » Managing self-responsibility with regards to time and attendance and quality
   » Review client proposals in terms of control systems engineering and design
   » Provide technical input for control system functional specifications
   » Design, development, and commissioning of all PLC and SCADA software elements
   » Design, development, and integration of MES systems.
   » MES Systems include BOSS, Wonderware and Shopware
   » Development, configuration, testing and deployment of the MES solution
   » Provide technical input for basic and detail design
   » Evaluate vendor proposals for clarification
   » Equipment as well as software FAT and SAT testing
   » Assist in planning and reviewing of technical work and maintaining project schedules
   » Facilitate basic training of operators during the handover phase
   » Offer technical support on control system equipment
   » Good knowledge of standards to evaluate the quality of installed systems
   » Perform point to point wiring and functional checks
   » Commissioning
   » Work closely with other Discipline Managers/Project Managers/ Engineering Managers and aspire to support and achieve the goals of the Company.
   » Perform a Project Management function on some smaller projects
